The City of Valdez’s Economic Development Department is thrilled to announce its new “Business Spotlight program.” The Business Spotlight program is a FREE business recognition program designed to create awareness of the variety of local businesses located in the City of Valdez and their contributions to the community. The program highlights local businesses each month, who demonstrate how they go above-and-beyond to better the Valdez community.
9. Through an application process, the Economic Development Department will choose among applicants to be awarded a 90 second professional video created and produced by Seed Media that will be showcased on the City’s website and social media platforms. Although the City of Valdez retains full legal rights to the use of this video, the business will be able to use the video in their marketing efforts. Featured businesses will have the opportunity to showcase their business, their story and why they have chosen Valdez as their home. By submitting an application to be considered for a Business Spotlight, you are agreeing to these terms.
11. How it works:
     Businesses and non-profit organizations with a physical address within the City of Valdez and a valid State of Alaska and City of Valdez business license at time of application, are eligible to apply.  Businesses that derive the majority of their revenue from the following activities are not eligible: 1) Marijuana production or sales 2) Liquor stores and/or alcohol distributors 3) Tobacco or e-cigarette sales  Eligible businesses that have submitted a complete application will be selected at random each month.  Business that are selected will receive an award letter from the Economic Development Department.  Seed Media will contact the business to schedule an interview/video shoot time and date.
