Overview
Valdez has an annual average snowfall of 330 inches per winter. The City Shop has a fleet of heavy equipment and a well trained crew to handle this snow load. It is the goal of the City Shop crew to provide safe roads for the City of Valdez and to date have never had the schools closed due to road conditions brought on by snow or ice. Many hours are spent in the winter removing snow and sanding the roadways if necessary.
