Non-Mandatory Site Visit: July 28, 2022 at 2:00PM Alaska time - meet at the Capital Facilities Department, 300 Airport Road, Suite 201, Valdez, Alaska (located upstairs inside of the Valdez Airport).

The City of Valdez (City) is soliciting sealed proposals with Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) and basic cost information from interested general contractors to serve as the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) for the Valdez Small Boat Harbor H-K Major Reconstruction project.  This scope is based on funding availability and a determination will be made prior to contract approval.

The project design has advanced beyond the 65% stage and is positioned for input from CM/GC contractors. Following selection, the CM/GC will join the City, the Project Manager, and the design team to participate in the constructability process and completion of the design.  If successful at the close of the CM process, the CM/GC will be authorized to proceed with the construction work which is anticipated to begin in the fall/winter of 2022, pending adequate funding.

Each company must register for the RFP by filling out a Request for Plan Holder’s List form located under “Related Documents” on the City’s Website within the specific solicitation and e-mailing it to: Wendy Robertson with company name, address, telephone number, and fax number.  Faxed or oral proposals are not allowed and if submitted will not be evaluated.

Proposal Submission Deadline:  To be considered, a complete proposal package in the format requested, must be received by City of Valdez Capital Facilities by 2:00 PM Alaska time, August 18, 2022 via the City's Drop Box application.

In order to submit an electronic proposal, firms must request access to the Box file by 2:00pm at least 1 business day in advance of the submission deadline by emailing Wendy Robertson and cc: Austin Rake

Questions: Questions must be received no later than August 11, 2022 at 9:00 AM Alaska time and must be submitted in writing via email to Austin Rake  **DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, 2022 AT 9:00 AM ALASKA TIME**

Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned consultant firms to respond. Submissions should meet criteria identified in section IV and firms will submit one (1) proposal electronically through the City’s Drop Box application.

The selection process must comply with procurement requirements of the City to ensure fair and open competition.  The selection will be made on the basis of qualifications and price. The City reserves the right to cancel this procurement effort and will not reimburse respondents for any costs of preparation or submission of proposals.
