The range of services includes, but is not limited to: 

The purpose of this document is to solicit proposals from professional consultants to provide architectural, engineering, and related professional services for the replacement and/or demolition of the Valdez Container Terminal (VCT) water main, its related amenities, and grounds.  The Consultant will report to a City Project Manager and will be responsible for assisting with design development and value engineering where applicable. All applicable survey, design, and construction support services shall be considered inclusive of this contract.

The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the required services in accordance with the standards and criteria of the City of Valdez standards of the architectural and engineering profession.

The background and scope of the design effort are better described in pages 1-4 of the attached document labeled “Water Main Evaluation & Recommendations” dated June 1, 2021. This document also includes additional information and resources applicable to this project.

The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a quote, to reject any and all quotes without cause, and to re-solicit for quotes.
 
Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law. 
 
Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met. 
 
The City of Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist said firms in learning how to do business with the City.
